When you arrive at our office, we’ll ask you to fill out a quick questionnaire with some standard questions about your recent travel, potential exposure to COVID-19, symptoms that you’ve recently experienced that could indicate COVID-19, and a few other questions.
We also ask that you come alone to your appointment when possible, with exceptions for parents who are bringing children to visit, or people who may need help getting into and out of our office. For your protection and the protection of our staff, you are also required to wear a face covering such as a mask in all common areas until you reach your operating room.
We have reconfigured our waiting area to provide at least 6 feet of distance between patients. Social distancing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and other infectious illnesses spread by aerosolized droplets.
In addition, we’ve made some changes to how we schedule patients at Skylyn Dental Associates to reduce the number of people in our office at any given time. This helps us reduce the overall risk of transmitting COVID-19 and other infectious illnesses like the flu.
We have always followed all state and local regulatory guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms between each patient, but now we are taking even more additional precautions to ensure the entire room is safe, sanitized, and clean.
Not only that, but we’re wiping down commonly-touched surfaces like counters, chairs, tables, doorknobs, and bathroom surfaces to help prevent the spread of any infectious illness in the common areas of our office.
Our employees have all been trained on proper infection control protocols, such as frequent handwashing, respiratory hygiene, and other steps and precautions to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination and spreading COVID-19.
Our front-office team is wearing masks and is protected by Plexiglass barriers. Our dental team members will also be wearing masks, eye protection, and gloves, and may wear additional PPE like head coverings, shoe coverings, and face shields depending on the procedure.
